Clean-up After the Rain Storm
or
THANK YOU Ron, Daryl, Paul, Jerry & Byron

24 August, 2017

The roads in Canebrake needed some serious repair after the recent rainstorm. Stafford Crossing was washed out. Canebrake Road across the wash near the Mooney well needed work. Many other places needed work. Ron Akey, Daryl Holmes, Paul Deschamps and Jerry Bucheit went to Canebrake and with Byron Burkhardt, spent two days working on the roads to make them passable.

Betty Holmes took the photos below of the men working at Stafford's Crossing. This was their second day of working.

County road crews had a lot of work to do too. Their problem was somewhat different. They had too much dirt. Jerry talked to them and they dumped at least 75 yards of dirt in Canebrake that was used to fill in washouts.

At one point the tractor got stuck and had to be extricated. Fortunately this was accomplished without incident.

Big Horned Sheep came by to observe the work

When they saw it was being done well, they moseyed off.

A well deserved rest after a good day's work.

We really can't thank these men enough for coming out to Canebrake on some really hot days to do this work.
Thank again, Daryl, Ron, Jerry, Paul and Byron.
